Sandals Royal Caribbean Travel Feature
For our 10th wedding anniversary, Gabe & I decided to go back to Jamaica where we honeymooned. The island is beautiful and the resorts are top-notch. Following the recommendation of some friends, we chose to spend our vacation at Sandals Royal Caribbean, which is an adults-only all-inclusive resort. We flew into Montego Bay Airport, fortunately the bus ride to the resort was very brief! Upon arrival at the resort, we were immediately treated like family. The staff is professional and courteous just like you’d hope for at an all-inclusive. You’ll find a warm atmosphere of old Britain in the lobby area. We were brought complimentary beverages and checked-in while relaxing in the seating area rather than standing in a line! This was a quick process and we were escorted to our rooms in no time!
One thing we loved about this resort is the layout. It does not feel cramped but everything is within a short walking distance. It only took a few minutes to walk from our room, which was a poolside room near the entrance. You are greeted by free roaming peacocks which are beautiful and not shy! We even saw one stroll right into someone’s room!
We are from south Louisiana, so nice beaches are not something we are accustomed to lol. The water was a beautiful clear blue and the sand was soft & white! They had chairs for you to sit in the shade or you could lounge right by the water. You’ll have a great view of the island from your beach lounge chair! A staff member rounds frequently to see if you need anything but the bar and grill are right on the beach.
The resort has so many great activities that we never left during our 5 night stay. Throughout the day they’ll have beach volleyball, pool volleyball, paddle boarding, snorkeling, lawn chess, and bocce ball which was totally new to us but we had a blast playing with other couples there! If you take the dragon boat ride to the island, its a totally different feel. You can lounge in the beach chairs (I might have fallen asleep with a drink in my hand at some point idk) or hang out at the swim-up bar and pool, which we thought had the best drinks on all the property! The bartenders are amazing and will tell you all about their culture, entertain you with jokes and bar tricks, we truly enjoyed sitting at the bar visiting with them!
Something else we had so much fun with was the nighttime entertainment. They have a different theme every night of your stay. One night was a White Party where everyone comes dressed in white and we danced the night away. Another night was Chocolate themed with a chocolate buffet served poolside. There were fire dancers and other locals who performed or played games with the guests. There was never a dull moment, we laughed every single night! Their entertainment team is incredible. Yes believe it or not they have people who get paid to make sure you are having an amazing time on your trip. And if you aren’t they will intervene to get you up & having fun!
Of course as you’d expect at an all-inclusive resort, the food & drinks were incredible. At the French restaurant Le Jardinier, get the steak & eggs for breakfast. Trust me. That was our fav meal of the trip, right after our private candlelight dinner! We splurged on the night of our anniversary and reserved the private dinner. It. was. amazing. The ambiance set is so romantic, we had dinner with the ocean wind blowing and just the right amount of service without being intrusive.
Did I mention the couples cabana massage? Oh my word. An hour long massage in an open-air cabana right on the ocean next to my hunk. Like thank goodness I was face down because I think I drooled. This took the relaxation of our trip to a whole new level!
We couldn’t recommend this resort enough. The service was unbeatable, the views were incredible, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted to celebrate our 10th anniversary!
