Disney truly is the most Magical Place on Earth! It’s also the most spread out place on Earth… Disney vacations are a lot of fun but your feet will be done in no time without the right shoes. On our last trip, we averaged walking 7 miles a day. That’s with a 3, 5 & 7 year old. With that being said, here are some of the shoe suggestions to keep your feet happy and blisters away. One of the biggest tips I can give is to bring more than 1 pair for each person and rotate what shoes you wear each day! This will keep you from rubbing blisters in the same spot. Sketchers Go Walk – these are our favorite shoes for everyone in the house! They are so comfortable and cushioned. You can see my girls in the picture above each have a pair on, and zero complaints about them for the 8 days of our trip. You can find women’s selection here, men’s selection here, or kid’s selection here.
Cushioned flip flops – we love a great pair of flip flops around here. Pro tip – we keep a bag with flip flops for everyone in the bottom of the stroller in case we get caught in the rain & everyone has wet shoes. They are light and easy to carry and change into. A good cushioned pair will keep you walking all day long. I personally have Sketchers flip flops and they are super comfortable. These Nike flip flops are very popular too! You can find a great selection for women here, men here, girls here & boys here.
Girls wedge flip flops – Okay, I’ll say it out loud. You know those times when your kid is barely too short for a ride and you have to look at their sad faces while their older siblings get to ride? NO MORE! We bring along wedge flip flops for our girls when they are close to a height requirement, slip those bad boys on right before going through the queue and she is magically tall enough for the ride. This worked like a charm for us! Volatile flip flops are known to be comfortable and have a little wedge to give an extra inch or two in height. Or of course, if you are going to Disney World you can’t go wrong with Disney Platform flip flops for that extra bit of magic!
Columbia Men’s Bahama Boat shoe – Yall my husband swears these boat shoes are the most comfortable shoes he’s ever owned. He was at the Dentist the other day sitting in the chair and 2 people asked him about them lol! They are vented so plenty of air gets in and they dry quick if they get wet. They are his fishing shoes and now his Disney parks shoes 🙂 Winner winner chicken dinner!
Walking Sandals – It gets super hot in Orlando depending on the time of year you are going. Comfortable walking sandals can give your feet the air they need on hot days. Keen Sandals are well known for being comfortable walking/hiking sandals that are great wet/dry shoes. But there are many brands out there for every budget that make great walking sandals like Sketchers, Merrell, Teva, and Clarks. We’ve invested in Keen & Merrell shoes for the family to take on our trip to Costa Rica next year, you definitely need a great pair of hiking sandals there!
Sketchers Guzman – This type of Sketcher is a great wet/dry shoe and my daughter loves them! They are comparable to the popular Native brand shoes, both are an easy slip on & off for kids plus they are comfortable!
I wanted to also mention… like I said, we averaged 7 miles a day with 3 kids. If you have kids you definitely want to consider bringing or renting a stroller. Those little legs tire easily, even if they aren’t typically using a stroller at home they will want to take breaks during the day. This was a lifesaver for us, someone says they’re tired, hop in the double stroller so we can keep going lol. It is very common to see kids as old as 10 in strollers at Disney so don’t fret! I can’t recommend Kingdom Strollers enough. They will deliver the stroller to your hotel, pick it up on the day you check out, and they are cheaper than renting from the Disney Parks every day! Not to mention considerably more comfortable. Plus you can use outside of the parks, whereas Disney strollers must be left in the park. Hope your trip is incredible and your family’s feet stay happy the whole trip!
