What did we do before Amazon yall? It is so convenient to just hop on and order what you need. Oh you forgot something? No problem says Jeff Bezos. Just order again, we won’t charge you for shipping! And all the Angels in Heaven sing. We’re on the home stretch until our big Disney trip – 24 days as of this posting! I’m grabbing some last minute things we’ll need and thought I’d put together a list of those items you often forget or maybe just didn’t think about, but can grab on Amazon right before your trip! As an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases.
Backpack – this particular backpack on Amazon has been our go-to travel bag for everything! Including our park bag at Disney! Lots of handy pockets, and the chest strap makes it way more comfortable to carry all day! Can’t recommend this bag enough for this price!
Ponchos – it is inevitable, it will rain on your dream vacation, that’s what happens in Florida! These disposable ponchos are super convenient to throw in your park bag, and you can just toss it once the rain stops instead of dealing with a wet rain jacket and tired/wet kids while in line for Big Thunder Railroad.
Fans – it is HOT most of the year in Orlando. During our last trip which was in May, our then 3 year old would fall asleep in the stroller during the day and sweat through her whole nap (mom of the year here). This trip I found this clip-on fan that can go right on the stroller, battery operated, and no hot babies napping. You can also grab those cheap $1-2 handheld fans for the kids at your local dollar store, worth it when they are complaining about the heat!
Portable Charger – nothing like having the perfect moment with your child’s favorite character, but your phone is dead and no Memory Maker photographers in sight! Keep your phone powered by bringing along a solar-powered charger you can clip on your park bag and stay powered all day!
Autograph Books – this was one of my kids FAV things about our first family trip. Getting autographs from their favorite characters lights up their face and gives them a priceless keepsake Autograph Book to take home! Hint – you can add in pictures from the trip with those characters once you get home to make their own little memory album! P.S. these sell for much more in the parks! Grab ahead of time!
Retractable Sharpies – nothing like losing a cap and your kid is on the loose with a permanent marker in a giant crowd lol. Grab these retractable sharpies to keep the mess down, super convenient for the character autographs!
Bitbelts – those Magicbands are like gold, the last thing anyone needs is for it to fall off somewhere in the parks! These bitbelts were a lifesaver last trip, I had no worries about the kids Magicbands falling off even if they pulled on them. A little insurance on that valuable band with charging & room key capabilities!
Cooling towel – back to the Florida heat, when mid-afternoon hits and the kids get grumpy, these towels can really come in handy. Wet at any bathroom sink or water fountain throughout the parks to help your little one (or you!) cool off quickly!
Waterproof phone pouch – let’s be honest, Kali River Rapids in the middle of a hot day is super refreshing! But your phone may not think so! Grab a waterproof pouch for those wet rides and mid-day rains to keep your phone protected!
Insulated water bottle – Disney will give you a free cup of ice water throughout the parks at restaurants & refreshment stands. Bring your own water bottle to pour it into and keep it cold while you are in line!
Ziplocs – this may seem random, but I can’t remember how many times I pulled a Ziploc bag out of our park bag last trip! Whether it be saving those leftover fries or snacks after a meal for when the kids want to eat in an hour. Or when your toddler pees her pants in the middle of a play area and now you have her peed-on clothes & shoes to deal with… Even throwing phones or cameras in if the rain starts! TRUST ME, you’ll need Ziploc bags at some point!
Hand sanitizer – don’t even get me started on all the germs in a public place like the Happiest Place on Earth! Keep those travel sized hand sanitizers handy for between rides, meals, when your kid grabs the trashcan or picks up someone’s gum!
Trading pins & lanyards – we missed this boat last trip. But apparently it’s all the rage! We are going prepared this trip! Pin trading with cast members and other Disney guests is a thing and we are there for it! Go with your own starter set of trading pins and Disney lanyards to join in on the fun!
Night light – for the little ones that wake up scared during the night. It is a new place after all! This super cute Mickey Night Light is perfect for your resort room, they can take it with them to the bathroom during the night if needed!
Bandaids – Blisters. Boo-boos. They very well can happen at Disney! Don’t forget to throw some bandaids in your park bag to be on the safe side! Give them a little extra magic with Disney bandaids to keep that sweet face smiling!
Souvenirs – yall might think I’m crazy with this one. But we brought our own Disney stuffed animals last trip to keep the kids from asking for the really expensive ones in the parks! They loved having them for the plane ride! You can save a bit of money by bringing your own souvenirs and giving them as “Mickey Mail” throughout the trip!
Let’s wrap it up with those odd & end things you might forget to grab before your trip.
- Glowstick necklaces from the Dollar Tree – these can keep kids happy during those late night parades instead of buying the expensive stuff in the park!
- Baby wipes – even if you aren’t changing diapers anymore, there’s a good chance you’ll need to wipe hands, faces, something along the way. A small pack in your park bag for those quick clean-ups!
- Small snacks & drink packets – when the kids are hungry while you are standing in line, of course. Grab that fruit snack and keep em happy.
- Single packet laundry detergent – a mid-vacation trip to the wash room at your resort can help you cut down on the amount of clothes you need to pack!
- Change of clothes/shoes in your park bag or stroller – refer back to the paragraph on the toddler peeing her pants while her siblings rode Splash Mountain. Never a bad idea to throw a change of shorts/undies in your park bag! Also pack 2 pairs of shoes for everyone to swap out every day or when those shoes get wet in the rain or on rides!
I hope this helps you remember all those odd & end things you should bring on your Dream Disney Vacation! Happy packing for your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!
